The North Carolina Certified Sites Program's statewide initiative is to proactively identify and analyze industrial sites to help speed the creation of jobs and investment in the state. The certification process includes securing commitments to support development at specific sites, and proactive analysis of site development costs, environmental issues, and utility service. Certified sites assist clients looking into "greenfield" sites, saving them both valuable time and investment dollars in the development process. In order for a site to receive Certified Site status, an application is made which contains each of the 30 items required by the state.
