The Carolinas Gateway Partnership and the Kenan Institute of Private Enterprise UNC - Chapel Hill have partnered to launch the Twin County Business Growth Initiative.  The Twin County Business Growth Initiative is designed to retain and grow existing businesses within the region. Gateway professional staff and Kenan Institute Economic Development Analysts will interview executives across the region to gather information on current business health and identify priority areas for the targeted businesses.  Team members will then connect executives with a range of local, state and federal resources to assist with the company's specific requirements.

The goals of the initiative are three-fold:

• to provide time sensitive resources to existing Gateway partner businesses within the Twin County Region,
• to identify new businesses within the region that are not current Gateway partners and serve as a bridge to resource delivery, and
• to develop a robust data warehouse for ongoing economic development efforts.

The Twin County Business Growth Initiative will develop a comprehensive resource team to respond to the identified corporate needs and concerns.
